Brubaker Identified as Fire Victim

The official word came in late yesterday afternoon from Medical Examiner Dr. Brent Hall—that the fire victim from Wednesday morning’s apartment fire was 23-year-old Christopher Alan Brubaker. The Boone native’s body was found in the rubble of the apartment on Homespun Hills Road, Full Story

Hickory Man Killed in US 321 Crash

US 321 is back open to traffic south of Blowing Rock after a fatal accident that involved two trucks and a Jeep.  The State Patrol has identified the man killed as 41-year old Michael Allen Ray of Hickory, driver of a panel truck struck by a skidding, overturned tractor trailer. Full Story

 
Watauga Man Hurt in US 321 Wreck

A Watauga man was injured in an afternoon single-vehicle wreck on US 321 near Riverview Grocery.  The 4:40pm crash occurred as Joseph Randall Keller lost control of his 2002 Ford Taurus, the car hitting the ditch line and running along the ditch for some distance before striking a large rock, Full Story

Ashe Man Dies as Car Flips into Creek

An Ashe County man died in a crash late Wednesday morning, his car landing overturned in the waters of a creek.  The 11:40am wreck was on US 221 North of Jefferson and occurred when Harlie Wagoner ran off of the highway to the right, his 2005 VW hitting a large culvert, according to trooper Full Story

 
More Sex Offense Charges Filed Against Ashe Man

Ashe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Aaron Banks Dixon, Fleetwood, on another charge of Rape of a Child, 2 charges of Exploitation of a Minor, and another charge of First Degree Sexual Offense of a Child by an Adult. These additional arrests were made on Friday, March 15th. Full Story

 
Fatal Wreck Closes US 321 in Caldwell

US 321 was closed south of Blowing Rock after a fatal accident that involved two tractors trailers and a fire.  Law enforcement has reopened the north-bound side, and are diverting traffic to one lane near the wreck site to keep some traffic flow going in both directions near the crash.
