Woman Killed in Alexander Fire

A fire in Alexander county claimed the life of a woman after her husband discovered that she was trapped inside their burning home.  Investigators say 61-year old Barbara Davis, who was disabled, died in that McClellan Lane fire.  Her husband came home to find their mobile home on fire shortly before five Full Story

 
Two Charged in Lowes Foods Larcenies

Mountain City Man Charged in Local Crimes

Monday, February 24, Boone Police arrested Michael Ray Mabe, 22, of Mountain City, TN. In connection with a number of crimes, including a Felony Break-In. Mabe surrendered himself to investigators at the Boone Police Department and was charged on warrants taken by the Watauga Full Story

 
Morganton Man Charged in Boone Robbery

Boone Police have charged a Morganton man in connection with the robbery at the Boone Walgreens just over a week ago. The release said Keith Brandon Cunningham, 20, was arrested for Felonious Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and two counts of Felonious Tracking in Opiates. Full Story

Quick Response Saves Newland Home

Fire last night damaged a Newland home, but a fast response from a number of Avery Fire departments minimized the loss.
