The Watauga High girl's basketball team finds itself just one win away from its first ever Northwestesrn 3A-4A Conference championship. The Pioneers got there as they mounted a huge comeback to beat Hickory for a second straight time (keep in mind, HHS had won 15 straight against the Pioneers prior to that). And they did it by wiping out a 23-point, first-half deficit. The win moves WHS into Friday night's title game with Freedom, which has won 33 straight NWC games dating back to last year.
