An accident on Monday morning in Valle Crucis ended with the victim’s car in a creek bed.

The Watauga Democrat reports a 17 year old driver was traveling towards Broadstone Road when his Chevy Tahoe dropped off the right side of the road.

According to the report, Highway Patrol Trooper T.B. Hendrix said the driver overcorrected, went to the left, overcorrected again, and went off the road to the right and into the creek, landing upside down.

The driver was out of the vehicle when Trooper Hendrix arrived and was transported to Watauga Medical Center with only minor injuries.

According to the report, the driver was cited for failure to maintain lane control.
