Ashe County Authorities have apprehended a West Jefferson man who allegedly shot another man in Crumpler Monday night.

The Jefferson Post reports that Lee Walker Fierro, age 22, was apprehended Wednesday night in Fleetwood, and is being held in the Ashe County Jail on charges including assault with deadly weapon intent to kill. According to the report, Ashe County Sheriff Terry Buchanan said Fierro was pulled from the closet of a home in Fleetwood and arrested. Buchanan described Fierro as “confrontational." Buchanan said Fierro was being harbored by someone in Fleetwood and that additional charges are pending.

Fierro is alleged to have discharged a handgun at another man during a domestic incident Monday night just before 11pm. The victim, a 24 year old male from West Jefferson, had a single gunshot wound to his left side and was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and according the the Jefferson Post was in critical but stable condition.
