Crew 1: Brownwood road – continue to lay pipe moving around 100’/day. We have asphalt paving set for this Friday. Items 1-6 (below) still apply. We have encountered some rock and bad soils which has slowed productivity some. At this time in discussion with NCDOT and our subcontractor we have not opened to weekend traffic. The liability is too great and we will not be in compliance with DOT standards to open.

Crew 2 along 421: Work progressing. Encountered rock which has slowed us somewhat. We did get barrier wall relocated so could open Chevy dealership drive (last Friday). Anticipate this closure up until mid-May. The trenchless jack and bores under 421 and drives to start next week.

Crew 3 along new river road: Moving in 1st week in May. Will start taking some pipe next week and survey. Set up road closure along New River Hills from 421 back to bridge to plant on 5/1. Prep work after this and start pipe installation mid-May.
