Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton is making a stop in the High Country.

Clinton will be in Blowing Rock for a cocktail reception and fundraiser at Westglow Resort and Spa on Saturday, July 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The minimum contribution is $2,300 per person, the maximum $4,600 per person. Amounts above the minimum will be earmarked for the 2008 general election race. Clinton, the former first lady of two-term president Bill Clinton, was elected to the Senate in 2000 and is the running for the Democrat party nomination. According to Clinton’s own website, she is a “tough critic of the administration’s bungling of Iraq and a fierce advocate for proper equipment, health benefits and treatment for military families.” For more information on the event or to RSVP, contact Ben Pollara at (305) 569-2888. Rumors suggest Aisling Broadcasting’s own Steve Frank and his band may be playing at the event.
