Caldwell County Schools’ TeamWorks team has placed first in the Skills USA National Competition.
The team consists of Max Barlowe, Marc Colvard, Lewis Foust and Billy McElyea. In addition to medallions, winners will receive $1,000 worth of tools and equipment. The TeamWorks competition has been in existence seven years, and the Caldwell County Schools’ Career Center has won first place at the state level, allowing students to compete nationally each year. The competition requires that a team of four build a project in two days that demonstrates their preparation for employment in residential construction. The Caldwell team earned the only perfect score on a presentation. 45 teams participated in the annual event.
