An eight-year-old girl attracted the attention of Wilkesboro police last week.
When housekeepers noticed the child wandering around the Red Carpet Inn, they called the police. Upon arrival, police found the child still wandering around, and her father, 23-year-old Brandon Ray Hill, passed out on a bed in one of the hotel rooms. His behavior upon awakening made officers suspicious drugs were involved. Officers found a glass vial containing liquid and what could have been cocaine residue. Two glass pipes were also found. Hill cooperated with police, admitting to possession of the drugs. The girl’s mother picked her up from the scene. In the meantime, Hill faces charges of possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
