The issue of the Beech Mountain water intake and Watershed proposals will again be the subject of a meeting Monday night, then a public hearing Tuesday before the Watauga Commission. The issue was discussed last Thursday night at Bethel School, and after some requested a follow up meeting, and one was scheduled for Monday night, December 16th, 7:00 PM at the Beaver Dam Community Center above the Beaver Dam Fire Dept. Organizers say they have new information to pass along including the full Rothrock Engineering Report now available.  Beech Mountain town council asked Watauga Commissioners to sign on to a proposal to draw emergency water from the Watauga River at their November meeting, and residents of the area are now very concerned over the project.  Doors will be open at 6:30 PM. for the Monday meeting, and the commissioners may see quite a few sign up to speak Tuesday night.
