In Ashe County voting, John Reeves, Calvin Green, and Stephen Shoemaker took the three open seats on the West Jefferson Board of Aldermen, while in Lansing, there may have to be some sorting out, as third place in the Alderman race ended in a tie—Dennis Trainor Jr. and Kena Trainor both ending with 12 votes.  Further complicating the tally, there were 14 write-in votes. It will take at least the canvass to sort things out in that race while Jack Brown and Dylan Lightfoot took the other two seats, and Michelle Slaton took the unexpired term in a separate vote.
In Jefferson, it was Mark Johnston, Max Yates, and Bluferd Eldreth taking the three Alderman seats there.
