Vilas Man Charged in Monday Break-In PDF Print

After a report of a break-in at a Howard’s Creek Road residence yesterday, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest of a Vilas man. The Sheriff’s Office received a report that numerous items taken including miscellaneous jewelry, collectible coins, household furnishings and a boat propeller were taken from the 2821 Howard’s Creek Road residence. As a result of the report, a bulletin was issued for a white Nissan Sentra that left the scene, that car located and stopped on Cecil Miller Road by the Patrol Division. Sheriff Hagaman said that Aaron Lee McGinnis, 31, of 658 New River Hills, Apt. 2 Vilas, was charged with Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny After Breaking and Entering and Felony Possession of Stolen Goods. He was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate and given a court date of January 21st, 2014 and is currently being held in the Watauga County Detention Center under a $15,000.00 secured bond.
