A woman who witnessed an accident in Wilkesboro Saturday found herself in jail as her name was checked by police there and warrants were found to be on file for over a year.  The crash occurred midday Saturday on East Main in Wilkesboro, and Saundra May Jean Maloy was said to have witnessed the collision, and while taking a statement from the 42-year old North Wilkesboro woman, it was discovered she had six warrants in connection to the sale of marijuana at a residence very near where the wreck occurred.  In that April 2012 bust, 8.5 pounds of pot was found, according to the Wilkesboro Police report, along with $9000 cash, scales and other items typical for drug transactions. Two men were arrested at the time of the bust, but Maloy was added as a suspect as the investigation continued into July, but she was not found until Saturday—just witnessing the crash in the area of the bust. Saundra May Jean Maloy was charged with Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver, two counts, two of Sell and Deliver, and two of Conspire to Sell and Deliver the Schedule VI drugs. After suffering a panic attack during her arrest and processing, she was jailed under $10,000 secured bond.

Saturday was also unfortunate for another Wilkes woman who found herself the victim of vandalism to her car—and under arrest for embezzlement. 45-year old Lisa Michelle Harris reported to Wilkesboro Police late Saturday afternoon that someone had scratched her car while on the lot of the Dollar Tree on US 421. She didn’t have any suspects in the $750 damage done to her 2012 Chevrolet, but in the running her car’s tag, it was discovered that she was wanted for three counts from 2007, including embezzlement, Identity Theft, and Fraud, counts filed in Stokes County. Lisa Harris was later released under $15,000 bond.
