If you’re a New River Light & Power customer, you may note a slight reduction in your bill for several months, that due to a refund the local utility received from its supplier, BREMCO.  The $245,000 refund —including nearly $7000 in interest, will be subtracted from New River customers bills starting after the August 19th billing cycle and running through the billing Cycle just before January 19th.  The average 1000 kWh customer will receive a decrease in the bill during that time of just under $3. The letter from New River Light & Power indicated that the action was enabled without public hearing, but passed along a method for the public to intervene in the matter, with a deadline in October.
