The jury has the case of a Watauga County man, facing a possible life sentence in now 13 Rape, Sex Offense, and Indecent Liberties counts. Garry Glenn Cox, 55, of Campground Road Lot 30 in Vilas, was charged with the counts after an extensive investigation into years of abuse of a girl, but specific indictments list the years when the girl was 13, then 14, then 15, one count involving the a boy. The trial has been underway for a week now, with the jury getting the case just after lunch yesterday, considering 13 counts after Judge Kincaid dismissed one indictment with a ‘fatal defect,’ but allowing the jury to consider the other 13.  Jurors indicated at the end of the day yesterday that they had completed verdict sheets in some of the counts, and that process will continue this morning.
