Voting Changes on Local Board Agenda PDF Print

It has been quite some time since a complete Board of Elections was in place in Watauga County, but with the appointment of Luke Eggers as the second Republican member of the board, changes are on the agenda. Those changes may affect how Boone voters cast ballots in the fall, with the three precincts of past elections merged to one. With Eggers joining Bill Aceto, Republican, and Democratic Party member Kathleen Campbell, a resolution will be considered to combine the three Boone precincts to one.  Just where that voting would take place is yet to be determined, should the resolution pass. New one-stop voting plans are also on the agenda.  Several county voting places are being considered for moves, including Meat Camp and New River 3. There could be some public presence at the meeting with Facebook sites urging voters to come and wear green to today’s meeting.
