An investigation is underway into injuries sustained by a woman early yesterday morning, said to have come in an accident on US 321 near Tweetsie.  A woman reportedly fell from a moving pickup truck in what was reported as an accident, but as the investigation by the state patrol got underway, Watauga deputies were called in on the investigation as the state patrol says it appears there may be more to the injuries sustained by the woman.  The driver of the truck told the state patrol the woman fell or jumped from the truck, but then it was discovered that the same woman was injured in an incident at nearly the same location under the same circumstances weeks before, and an investigation into a possible assault was launched. The Boone woman was said to have been seriously hurt in the Sunday morning incident, which unfolded as the driver of the pickup left Watauga Medical Center and was stopped by Boone Police at about 3am, officers told he was heading out to notify family of the woman about her injuries that he claimed came as she jumped or fell from the truck.
