High Country law enforcement is seeking a woman, missing from Alexander County, that after the state patrol checked the woman’s vehicle this morning before the Silver Alert was issued on her. The 2000 Chevrolet Impala was checked as it was entering Watauga County at about 10:30
this morning, a ‘hit’ on the tag came back as the missing persons report was being filed in Taylorsville. Authorities have released that they are seeking the woman and her grey/green 2000 Chevy Impala with license plate number PTC-1295.
The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has named the missing endangered woman as Lucille Stikelleather Rufty. Rufty is 82 years old, 5-foot and 8 inches in height, and weighs 135 pounds. Her hair is gray and she has hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, flowered blouse, brown slacks and white sandles.
Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Rufty, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
