MORE Interesting Weather--Wind, Frozen Stuff PDF Print

Sharp bursts of wind out of a weather system moving into the High Country overnight have downed trees, some power lines, and may give us more of the same as the day goes along.  So far, the Blowing Rock area has been hardest hit with power outages—several hundred BREMCO customers in the dark, a tree over the lines near Powderhorn Mountain, with more scattered outages in the Glendale Springs area of Ashe where trees are down on NC 16 and Highway 88 East. Be prepared for more, as the system is just arriving in the area, to be followed by another system out of the southwest tomorrow that is predicted to bring snow to thie area and a mix down the mountain.
