Boone still ‘trudging along’ in Stage 1 PDF Print
Wednesday, 12 September 2007 06:36

Despite recent rainfall, Boone’s still “trudging along” in Stage 1 Water Shortage Conditions, Public Utilities Director Rick Miller says.

Stage 1 is voluntary, but the next step, Stage 2, involves mandatory water restrictions. Miller says we may be a few days away from implementing Stage 2 in Boone.

"If we don't get some substantial rain, we're going to have to- we're going to have to do something," Miller said.

Blowing Rock, as well as several other Carolina communities, already have mandatory restrictions in place because of the drought.
