Female faculty and students at Appalachian State University can take part of the Rape Aggression Defense classes on campus starting tonight.

It’s important, the university’s Stacy Sears says.

The classes instill both confidence and awareness, Sears says.

Techniques learned could even save your life. Instructors teach women defensive concepts and techniques against various types of assault by utilizing easy, effective and proven self-defense and martial arts tactics. The first session meets Wednesday evenings, tonight, September 19 and October 3rd. For more information or to register, contact Lt. Billy Arnette at (828)262-2150 or Sears at (828)262-6111.
