Sheriff Frye has a Round-up PDF Print
Friday, 07 September 2007 10:08

At least fifteen people face drug charges after what Avery County Sheriff Kevin Frye is calling a Friday “round-up.”

Law enforcement has been planning this effort for awhile, he said.

Frye’s office rounded up suspects with outstanding warrants- assisted by the Municipal Drug Task Force. Most of the charges were for selling and distributing controlled substances, he said. A complete list of suspects and charges will be available this evening on www.goblueridge.net.

Frye said it’s a cooperative effort- and law enforcement can’t catch the bad guys alone.

Without the towns' funding and equipment, the war on drugs couldn’t be fought, he said.
