Boat safe on Labor Day PDF Print
Thursday, 30 August 2007 20:00
North Carolina Wildlife Officers want to remind the public to be safe when boating Labor Day weekend.  The same blood alcohol limit applies for operating boats and cars, officers say, so have a designated driver on the road and on the water. Beware of Boater Fatigue. Wind and waves, combined with heat, glare, motor noise and vibrations can create the condition. It can also exaggerate the effects of alcohol, and remember, boaters within 100 feet of a law enforcement vessel displaying flashing blue lights must slow to a no-wake speed. For more information on boating safety and regulations, visit www.ncwildlife.org.
