ASU student charged in motorcycle deaths PDF Print
Tuesday, 21 August 2007 20:25
The driver of an SUV that struck a motorcycle head-on has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by vehicle.
21-year-old Andrea Nicole Crawford, an Appalachian State University student, was turning left from U.S. 421 onto Bamboo Road in her Nissan Murano when she failed to yield to an eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 421. While both vehicles had a green light, the motorcycle had the right-of-way, highway patrol officials say. The motorcycles’ occupants, driver, 40-year-old James Richard Tignor of Lebanon, Virginia, and passenger, 40-year-old Kimberly Blevins of Abingdon, Virginia, did not survive injuries sustained in the crash. The accident occurred Monday afternoon in Boone.
