ASU: One of the region’s best universities, Report says PDF Print
Monday, 20 August 2007 20:00

Once again, Appalachian State University is ranked highly in rankings released by U.S. News and World Report.

ASU is ranked tenth in the “Best Universities-Master’s in the South” in the Report’s 2008 America’s Best Colleges Guide. ASU still ranks fifth among the South’s top public master-degree granting universities. ASU has placed in the top fifteen southern universities since the rankings appeared in 1986. ASU is also listed 14th in the South in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” masters-degree granting universities category. ASU’s first-year experiences and learning communities programs were also honored with inclusion in the “Programs to Look For” listings. ASU and Elon University were the only North Carolina schools honored for learning communities. An abridged copy of the report will be available at, and the magazine is currently available for purchase.
