Ashe cracks down on drugs PDF Print
Monday, 13 August 2007 20:00

A Friday drug bust makes Ashe County’s stance on drugs perfectly clear: Drugs will not be tolerated.

Thanks to the efforts of West Jefferson police and the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office, two West Jefferson drug suspects face drug charges. Undercover deputies were able to buy drugs from the suspects- and obtain enough probable cause for a residential search. The search and entry team found various illegal drugs in a home on West Third Street, including amounts of prescription medication large enough to lead to trafficking charges. 40-year-old Timmy McPeak and 42-year-old Tammy McPeak faces several charges, including conspiring to traffic opium or heroin. The two were held in the Ashe County jail under a $250,000 secure bond.
