Record Adoptions at Avery Humane Society

The Avery Humane Society ended the August with a record breaking 105 adoptions. The Bill and Kathy Avery Foundations sponsored AHS' cat promotion, which helped 65 cats find new homes in August.

Children's Activity Book To Be Widely Distributed to Watauga Co. Students

Each year, the Watauga Cooperative Extension assists Watauga County's Soil and Water Conservation District with Environmental Field Days. Over 300 of the county's 5th graders from the county schools come out each year to the Valle Crucis Community Park to learn about our environment, rotating through different stations.
