One year in the making, Hospitality House is finally ready to unveil their latest project, “Welcome Home Thriftique.” Located at 182 Boone Heights Drive, this unique shopping experience will open its doors on Friday July 25 and Saturday July 26 from 10am – 6pm and Sunday July 27 12pm – 6pm.

When someone hears “good news” from a law enforcement officer, they usually think of being told that they don’t have jury duty or they aren’t receiving a citation.  However, there is a group of officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office that have a different slant on good news.

The Alleghany County Fiddlers Convention is Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th at the Alleghany Fairgrounds in Sparta, N.C. Prizes are awarded in bluegrass and old time individual and band categories for youths and adults, and a dance contest. The event starts at 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m.
