WHS Pacers Show This Saturday

BRAHM to Offer Kid's Art on Saturdays in February

Beginning in February, the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum and Appalachian State University Art Education program will offer a Saturday Art Club in the Museum’s Education Center for children ages 8 to 14. Inspired by the Scottish art program Room 13, the Art Club will encourage the young participants to utilize a variety of mediums to create art that has meaning to them. Full Story

Roller Girls Roll into Canyons

The Appalachian Rollergirls (ARG), Boone's only women's flat track roller derby team, will be hosting a fundraiser at Canyons Restaurant & Bar in Blowing Rock, Feb. 8th, 5-8pm, to raise money to help pay for a roller derby track in order to host games at The George M. Library Offers Free Tax Assistance for 2012 Tax Season

The Watauga County Public Library is offering tax assistance for the 2012 tax season. The (VITA) Volunteer for Tax Assistance program provides free income tax preparation and free electronic filing for eligible low to moderate-income Watauga County residents. The program operates in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service and receives financial support from the Friends of the Library and the MDC. Full Story
