Linville, NC (September 22, 2015) - Cannon Memorial Hospital volunteers were honored for their dedicated service at a luncheon held September 17, 2015.

A special project has recently enabled Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute’s College Compass program students on the Watauga Campus to take flight, while at the same time further beautifying the most picturesque community college campus in North Carolina.

With summer coming to an end, F.A.R.M. Café is excited to bring community and fresh food to the Green Valley School in Boone, N.C. on Sept. 19, 2015. The local donate-what-you-can eatery will be partnering with Grace Lutheran Church and Bethany Lutheran Church in hosting a Pop-Up Event at the cafeteria of Green Valley School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members of thetwo local churches will be on hand as volunteers and hosts.

The Watauga County Public Library would like to invite you to join us for a financial tune-up. Mend the $pend is the first in a series ofFinancial Literacy Workshops for adults, which will be held on September 24 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the NC Works Career Center, 130 Poplar Grove Road Connector in Boone with Dr.

The 2015 Stick Boy Mayview Madness 5K returns to the High Country for its 16th year this Saturday, September 19th. With the Blue Ridge Mountain vistas and cooling air temperatures, it will make for a great morning event in Blowing Rock. Along with the 5K run, there will also be a 1-mile fun run for kids sponsored by Blue Ridge Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Run the race and enjoy post-race celebrations after crossing the finish line at Bistro Roca.
