Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute celebrated a new class of Electrical Linemen with a completion ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 3 at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir.

BOONE, NC – December 1, 2015:  Welcome Home Thriftique and Anna Banana’s Fine Consignment will be partnering together in a unique way starting in December. The kickoff, being held during Boone First Friday Art Crawl, December 04 at 6:00pm, at Anna Banana’s in downtown Boone, will feature month-long discounts unique to the partnership.

 

The Watauga County Public Library’s Library Scavenger Hunt won the Best Program for Children award for FY 2014-2015, as presented by the North Carolina Library Directors Association. Lisa Flanigan, Youth Services Specialist, implemented the scavenger hunt.

 

The Library Scavenger Hunt is an ongoing program put on by the Children’s Department. Children are given a list of questions and clues and invited to search around the Children’s area of the library to find the answers. While doing this, they learn about the subject of the month, as well as about the kinds of books and other resources the library has for them.

(Boone, NC) - Beginning January 1, 2016 Appalachian Regional Healthcare System (ARHS) will enter into a strategic partnership with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center's Department of Emergency Medicine for physician services in its emergency department (ED) at Watauga Medical Center in Boone. In February, Wake Forest Baptist will also provide these same services at Charles A. Cannon, Jr. Memorial Hospital in Linville.

November 30, 2015 - BRAHM invites the public to explore Christmases of days gone by on Tuesday, December 8th at 7 pm. This program will discuss the traditions, culture, and history of Christmas in Appalachia through the reflections of Tennessee native Amy Tipton Cortner and music from the Shorthand String Band.
