On March 31, 2010, the High Country Winegrowers Assoc. will hold its 2nd annual meeting.  The meeting will be held a 7pm at the Watauga Agricultural Conference

Center, 252 Poplar Grove Rd., Boone, NC


The meeting theme will be pre-spring vineyard start up.  Subjects covered will be:

pruning to avoid spring frost, pesticide spraying, vineyard parts suppliers, ASU’s

new grape program, and review of winegrape varieties suitable for the High

Country.  At the end of the meeting, there will be a wine tasting for members, wines

To be tasted will be varieties that can be grown commercially in the High Country,

but are not yet planted here.


The public is welcome to attend, the HCWGA is an educational grower and winery

association for the entire High Country area.  All winegrape growers or those interested in growing winegrapes are invited to attend.  Membership applications

The HCWGA is an educational assoc dedicated to the development of a mountain

Winegrape grower and winery industry in the High Country and the preservation

of  family farm lands.
