WHS DECA Students and Makoto's Team to Help Haiti PDF Print

haiti_2010_logo_copy.jpgThe Watauga High School DECA Club and Makoto's Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar are teaming up to host the first annual Watauga Helps Benefit Dinner.

This year we chose to raise funds for Wine to Water's Haiti Emergency Fund.  On Tuesday, March 2nd, the entire community is encouraged to come out to Makoto's between 5-9 pm, buy dinner, enter the silent auction, and raise funds and awareness for Haitians in need.  Community members Michael Wyant (Watauga High School Principal), Mark Garrett (Avery High School Principal), Carmen Scoggins (Watauga High School Spanish Teacher), Ron Hopper (Watauga High School English Teacher), and Piper Woodring (Watauga High School Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher) have volunteered to serve guests at the event.  DECA students will be helping out on Tuesday night and Wine to Water's team will be in attendance.  We hope that this fundraiser will be very successful in bringing our community together in an effort to provide clean water to Haiti's earthquake victims.  Many surrounding businesses have donated to our silent auction which include, For Him, For Her, For the Family, and Restaurant gift baskets.  We hope to have your support in this event on Tuesday March 2nd from 5-9 pm at Makoto's.

This is an event you won't want to miss out on!
