The Fourth of July is upon us and that means lots of fun family entertainment. Blowing Rock Parks & Recreation is having their annual Fourth of July Festival again on Saturday, July 5th and Sunday, July 6th in Memorial Park on Main Street. Activities on Saturday begin with an Adult Horseshoe Tournament and games for kids including a water balloon toss, watermelon eating contest, face painting and more.  The games are followed by performances by the Country Magic Cloggers and live music by the Buckhaggard Band. Blowing Rock’s Independence Day Parade will begin at 2p.m. on Saturday July 5th. The Parade features local dignitaries, vintage autos, parade horses, home crafted floats, local neighborhoods and families, fire trucks and more. The Cockman Family will follow after the parade.

Fireworks will take place at Blowing Rock Country Club Saturday evening at around 9:30 p.m.  Parking and viewing of the fireworks for the public will be located on Goforth Road from Green Park Inn to Sunset.  Country Club Drive will be open to property owners on Country Club Drive and Blowing Rock Country Club members only.

There will be performances by Diana and Sarvis Ridge and Sweet T on Sunday July 6th beginning at 1:00p.m. and continuing until 7:00p.m.
