The Caldwell Arts Council is pleased to announce that several Caldwell JAM students will be performing and representing our county in front of our state legislators at Arts Day on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Raleigh. About Arts Day: Arts Day is the annual North Carolina Legislative event that champions and rallies grassroots advocacy for the arts. Facilitating effective face-to-face contact with legislators, Arts Day sets the stage for celebration, strategy, and communication and positions the arts as essential to North Carolina’s economy, education and civic life.

About Caldwell JAM

Caldwell JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) is a project of The Caldwell Arts Council that operates as a 30-week program at two schools in the county and in downtown Lenoir at 1841 Café. In addition, Caldwell JAM offers a summer camp that is tied into the Happy Valley Fiddlers Convention. Caldwell JAM is partially supported by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.
