Brain Food Boone is a brand new enrichment service provider, focused on building confidence and increasing motivation for all levels of learners.

Dynamic, differentiated grade-level focused lessons will engage children for two hours of fun academic supplement. The first scheduled workshops will focus on 3rd grade EOG Confidence and 2nd grade Reading Confidence. Brain Food Boone wants to hear from parents about the grade level and curriculum area workshops they'd be interested signing their children up for.

Parents can pre-register their children right away for our sessions Saturday, March 29 by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Parents are being asked to pre-register so that lessons can be tailored to fit the student group.  Parents should email the grade level/session that they are signing up for and Brain Food Boone will contact the parent within 24 hours with a survey to discover more about their learner.

Brain Food Boone can be found on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/BrainFoodBoone or on the web at www.brainfoodboone.wix.com/brainfoodboone. Lessons will be led by Jenny McCourry, Hardin Park's 2013 Teacher of the Year; along with Amy Forrester, pre-service educator, who in her final year at Appalachian State University and up to date on all current standards and best practices.

The first workshop is focused on 3rd grade reading EOG Confidence, and will be Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and a 2nd grade reading confidence workshop will follow from 1 to 3 p.m., both at the Holiday Inn Express of Boone. Brain Food Boone considers itself support and supplement for the classroom teacher and will contact teachers of attendees for a brief survey in order to differentiate lessons to the level of learner and their specific strengths and challenges. The 2 hour session is $25 if paid at the door and $20 if paid in advance (though Brain Food Boone is offering the advance pay rate of $20 at the door on March 29 for all attendees as a grand opening special) and includes a 15 minute parent wrap up at the conclusion, during which Brain Food Boone will arm parents with tips on how to extend our lessons and help with homework. Registration for each session is limited to 20 students.
