Raining Again? PDF Print
Written by Carroll Corbin

First it was mist then a drizzle
Sprinkle then downpour, even cats and dogs
Roaring sky menacing cumulus alive with light
Falling on mountain tops down hillsides rushed
Through coves and valleys gathering volume
Water connects water, water collects
Filling space no hollows or voids
Springs sprang to life
Creeks became rivers
Rivers became monsters
Branches had branches never seen before
Water tables rose
Even after rain subsided the flow raged on
Waterfalls appeared on road sides
Mountains let go
Trees and mud flowed like water
Rivers match thunders roar
Where is the orange glow
The warm ball that once hung in sky
Not the shards of light flung to the earth
Did we lose a season too
Spring Fall Winter ones missing
Jacket wearing in August is new to me
Has Seattle or Ireland has invaded the atmosphere
Our garden is amuck, veggies so pore
Spongy grass and mowing overdue
The forest thirst is quenched
Pulling water to tops through built in straws
Old timers say, “It’s the most rain in memory”
“Recon it’ll rain”, just a common joke today
“We could use some rain”, forgotten for now
This is natures plan let’s not complain………….
Cause during drought were begging for rain.
