Avery County Sheriff's Department Arrests, June 3 - 6, 2013

 

 

June 3

 

  • Oscar Cook, 29, of Elk Park, was charged with failure to appear on possession with intent to distribute a schedule III drug. Cook was being held at the Rutherford County Jail when arrested by Avery County Sheriff's Department officers. Cook was placed in the Avery County Jail on a $15,000.00 bond.

June 5

  • Johnny Bowman of Elk Park Highway, was arrested by Avery County Sheriff's Department. Officers had been called to a residence with a complaint that a man was refusing to leave when asked by the occupant of the house. Officers identified Bowman and arrested him on outstanding warrants. Bowman had a warrant for child support and a warrant for failure to appear on a felony drug charge. Bowman was placed in the Avery County Jail. His total bond was over $11,000.00.

June 6

  • Anthony Bullock, 22, was arrested by Avery County Sheriff's Department. Officers responded to a report of wanted person located at a set of apartments off Beech Mountain Parkway. Officers responding to the location identified Anthony Bullock. Officers arrested Bullock on numerous outstanding warrants. Charges on the outstanding warrants included four felony probation violations from Avery County, two misdemeanor charges from McDowell County, one misdemeanor charge from Mitchell County, one misdemeanor probation charge from Avery County and one felony drug charge from Avery County. Bullock was placed on a $76,000.00 bond at the Avery County Jail.

Other Notes

On June 5, 2013 officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a stolen John Deere Riding Lawn mower valued at $2000.00. Investigators with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office followed up on a tip and recovered the mower late in the evening on June 07th. The theft is still under investigation.
