Man Injured in Watauga Crash

A Sugar Grove man was injured as his truck ran off of a steep, curvy section of Clarks Creek Road late yesterday afternoon, careened off a small cliff, slammed onto a driveway, then further off the road and into a tree.  61-year old Richard Steven Storie suffered facial injuries in the 4pm crash as his 2001 Toyota pickup took part of its path off the road airborne. New Rash of Boone Business Break-ins

A rash of recent business break-ins has the Boone Police Department asking for the public’s assistance. Boone Police responded Wednesday morning to a breaking and entering that had been discovered at Xtreme Fitness on Highway 105.  Officers soon discovered two additional nearby businesses had been broken into overnight, as has been the case in a number of recent incidents. Mountain City Couple Murdered; Baby OK

A Mountain City couple is dead—murdered in their home—with their 6-month old child found unharmed in her mother’s arms.  The horrific scene was discovered yesterday morning at 10:30 a.m. when a man who had previously lived in the neighborhood came by the James Davis Lane home.
