Last Friday, Watauga County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 136 Wildwood Dr. in the Deep Gap community after reports of some “suspicious items.” Upon arrival Deputies found what they thought were remnants of four different “Shake and Bake” style clandestine methamphetamine laboratories in a large burn pile, according to Sheriff Len Hagaman. Also found in the large burn pile were other items consistent with items used in the manufacturing process of methamphetamine. The reporting person stated they had let some friends stay at their residence for a few days and after they left, the reporting person stated they found these suspicious items and contacted police. No suspects have been arrested yet, according to Sheriff Hagaman, but there are several persons of interest in the case. Arrests are expected as the case is still under investigation.
